How to align a sending domain – Easymailing

Domain alignment is a crucial process for improving brand consistency and trust in the links within the emails you send. By aligning your domain, the return path of your emails will use your own domain, which will be aligned with the "from" and the DKIM signature domain. Additionally, the tracking links will use your own domain, which will improve your reputation as a sender by not sharing it with other users.

This process significantly improves the delivery rate and is especially important to comply with the delivery policies of providers like Gmail and Yahoo, which introduced changes in February 2024.

To create or modify records on your DNS server, you need to have certain knowledge about domains and how DNS records work. If you don't have this knowledge, you can delegate it to your hosting or domain provider.

Steps to Align Your Domain

1. Verify Your Domain

Access the Configuration panel in your Easymailing account.

Click on the Verifications tab.

Select Sending Domains from the dropdown menu.

2. Start the Alignment Process

Click on "Align" on the domain you want to align.

Enter the subdomain you want to use. Make sure it is a subdomain that you are not currently using. For example, you can choose email-mkt.yourdomain.com.

3. Create the DNS Entries

Create the DNS entries shown in the window within the provider where you have your DNS server.

Click on Align Domain to check that the DNS entries are correctly created.

4. Verify the Configuration

If everything is correct, you will have followed the steps to align the domain correctly.

You will need to wait some time until the SSL certificate that will be used on your tracking domain is issued.

5. Completion of the Process

Once the process is finished, your domain will be aligned and ready for use.
